Currently: Retired University of Portsmouth Lecturer
Highest qualification: Doctorate (PhD, DPhil)
I was a lecturer in Microbiology at the University of Portsmouth for over thirty years but only in 2010 did I start lecturing to more general audiences.
I now give lectures to any group which has an interest in the history of infectious disease. That might be a history society, a branch of the Women's Institute or a general interest social club.
Since undertaking these lectures I have presented to a meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science and am a regular contributor to study days at Winchester College.
