Lucy is a Psychiatry Trainee based in London. Since graduating from Edinburgh University, she has continued her training at the Maudsley and Bethlem Royal Hospitals, and is currently studying for a Masters in Clinical Education at King’s College London. Through her clinical and academic work, Lucy has developed a strong interest in health policy and management, particularly in the context of mental wellbeing and global health.
In 2014 Lucy took up the post of Clinical Tutor in Global Mental Health at The Institute of Psychiatry. In this role, she spent 4 months working in Harare at the University of Zimbabwe. Through funding from PEPFAR and the National Institute of Health, she held a key role in capacity building and undergraduate teaching, where she endeavoured to strengthen and support mental health training and provision.
Earlier this year Lucy completed a British Science Association Media Fellowship at the Daily Mirror where she wrote about a range of subjects including mental health stigma, suicide, insomnia, legal highs and transparency of medical research.
