Currently: PhD student
Expertise: Physics & Astronomy
Highest qualification: Masters (MSc, MPhil)
I have given talks at high schools and primary schools in Melbourne, Australia. Most recently I gave general astronom talks to grade 3 & 4 (9 and 10 years old) and grade 5 & 6 (11 & 12 years old) students. In my talks I often highlight astronomy stereotypes and then show images of my friends and colleagues to break the stereotypes of who is, and can be, a scientist or astronomer. I als discuss my research and what it means to be an astronomer (the travel I have done and how collaboration and sharing ideas is vital to science). I have also given a more detailed talk about my journey in astronomy and my work to my local Rotary Club, who supported me financially to attend a science camp (the National Youth Science Forum) in high school.
